Sunday Carvery
Our famous carvery is available 12-3pm every Sunday and is a popular choice – book your table early to avoid disappointment. Be sure to let your team know if you have and specific dietary requirements.
Veggie Burger was quite tasty but nothing outstanding. Came with chips. A healthy side salad would have added to the value of the overall plate of food.
Marlings is a great place to eat. We love the relaxed atmosphere and pleasant decor. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
We normally choose from the full menu and the food
is very good. Our latest visit was on a Sunday and carvery is not a personal favourite,
Based on our first visit, we will 100% be back, the staff were fantastic, the food simply amazing and I loved the fact it was spacious. Thanks all for a fantastic evening (Friday 19 April 2024 5pm booking)
We love eating out at Marlings. We like the attractive decor, helpful staff and good food. Often we are there with friends who have also been impressed.
The food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant. Not waiting long for your food or drinks. It’s clean tidy and u get warm feeling as u walk in. A nice welcome and taken to your table if it’s booked on line
Group of 8 of us. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was great and my pie was probably one of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a few😂).
We love a good roast and were attracted by the variety of vegetables served with the carvery on the website menu. The meat was tender and tasty however we found the rest of the meal to be lacking in flavour with overcooked bland vegetables and cauliflower cheese that was not very cheesy. The only vegetable with noticeable flavour was the spiced red cabbage. The gravy, which for us is the star of the show, was rather watery and did not have the promised meat juices. We thought the ambience was lovely and felt very relaxed in the homely setting. Place, service and staff 10/10 carvery 6/10
Lovely surroundings, warm and friendly welcome, attentive staff and very good value food.
The carvery on the whole was lovely but the roast potatoes were disappointing.Should have been really crisp on the outside but were quite soggy. That’s my only complaint.
We’ve had some great meals now at Marlings now and always are good I’d definitely recommend the burger they do it tastes so fresh and I’d say one of the best burgers I’ve had anywhere . Also the sticky toffee pudding desert and the mushrooms on toast are both fantastic. Also a side of onion rings has to be ordered as they are so good fresh tasting and the batter is so crispy and golden.
The staff are always great in here always friendly and quick service it’s a great place to also come and watch the football and the atmosphere is quite good and a really nice design.
Overall I’d definitely recommend visiting Marlings bar and grill for or a meal or just a drink
My family and I came for a carvery on Sunday. The food was very good. The staff were friendly and We were greeted on arrival, taken to our table, drinks order was taken and delivered. We got our meals and were asked if everything was ok which it was. However that was the last time we saw anyone. Our table wasn’t cleared and no one came to ask if we would like desserts or coffee. It didn’t spoil our meal but I just feel that this should have been offered and is their loss as almost all of us would have had at least a dessert if not both. It wouldn’t put me off going again but just feel it should be mentioned.
Midweek lunch with friend. Good service, friendly and efficient. Had sausages and mash. Excellent served with vegetables, creamy mash, crispy onions and gravy boat. Good value too. Would recommend. Have also had Sunday carvery which is also very good.
Warm and friendly service , also helpful in terms of outlining the specials and special deals. We both had fish and chips , which was lovely ,
Probably would not use during summer holiday season although overall not a bad experience.
Also service procedure needs to be informed upon arrival.
Second time back for carvery, amazing food, restaurant and staff, can’t wait to come back again
Thank you once again to Luke and David, not forgetting the chef and any other staff involved, for a fab evening. Fantastic food, amazing service and an all round wonderful evening.
We will be back.
Being a Sunday it was busy and they had a very large group booking, but that didn’t affect us or the service.
The food was all cooked beautifully and kept hot without drying out. We did eat early so that was good for us.
Pleasantly surprised by the ambience and the dining experience. Decor is attractive, a pleasant place to dig and enjoy a delicious meal freshly cooked.
Staff are pleasant and eager to help. Very friendly atmosphere. Had Sunday carvery, no complaints, very nice and well cooked. Will certainly be going again
Had to leave a review to rave about the carvery - the meat was melt in the mouth, amazing, and what a bonus having full sized bigs in blankets, stuffing balls and all types of veg. The one and only let down was the watery tasteless mashed swede but we’re sure it was a one off (hopefully?) already looking forward to returning. Staff were friendly and efficient.
We had a very pleasant evening, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive, it was realise closed season for residents therefore it was very quiet. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, the young waitresses were very polite and friendly, I queried the size wine I had, I’d ordered large but because they came in such large glasses I was unsure, but the barman apologised immediately and brought us another glass each. Because it was so quiet we were spoilt with the service, I doubt in height of season it would be that good. The food was good, good portion, the chips a little overcooked but never the less overall impression was good. Desserts were lovely and very generous portions. Bar prices were a little pricey we felt.
Bar and waiting staff polite and friendly, meal was lovely apple amd cinnamon crumble delicious 😋
Will definitely return again
Very nicely done out staff were attentive and quick to take our order. We had the carvery which was very good with plenty of choice
A good place for a roast. Plenty of choice of vegetables and eat plentiful and well cooked.
We had a lovely breakfast buffet in perfect surroundings and a coffee included which we went and drunk in the snug. All the ingredients were top quality and faultless service. One small complaint, the toast was cold and hard but perhaps we went at the wrong time (first thing). Would highly recommend and love to return.
Lovely venue, food and staff! We will definitely be adding this to our list of local restaurants we enjoy as a family. The sitting room was a great place to enjoy coffee at the end of the meal.
Like the help yourself style of breakfast this morning, you could have as much as you liked and pick and choose, great idea to have at weekends.
First visit for us , Boxing Day lunch plenty of choice. Will go back on a Sunday to try the carvery .
Our opening hours are Monday – Sunday open from 9am
